Wednesday night’s draw saw a Lotto player hailing from Dalkey walk away with the jackpot worth €781,265. Lotto players in the South County Dublin are being encouraged by the National Lottery to check their lottery tickets carefully. The draw on Wednesday was the sixteenth draw that has offered players the chance of benefiting from additional prizes that are rolled down to the winner of the next highest tier with a winner from the capped jackpot of €19.06 million.
The Wednesday night Lotto draw, as well as Lotto Plus games, saw more than 141,000 players all over Ireland win prizes, which included a Dublin player who was the night’s biggest winner. Since no additional funds were added to the jackpot because it is capped, the funds that are usually added to the jackpot were instead added to the next prize tier. This was the category of Match+5 Bonus and last night’s draw saw a winner for it.
The Dalkey winner had bought the ticket via Quick Pick on the day of the draw in Dalkey, Co Dublin from the Barnhill Stores located on Barnhill Road. Owner of the Barnhill Stores, Dave Whelan said that he was delighted to receive the good news about Wednesday night’s draw. He said that it would undoubtedly be a day for excitement and celebration. He added that there were 60 people working in the store and the staff would be delighted to hear that they had sold a winning ticket worth more than €700,000.
The owner said that the win has also come at the best time for the lucky winner, with the festive season approaching. The winning digits in the November 24th, Wednesday draw were 08, 10, 19, 31, 41 and 43 and the bonus number was 29. The National Lottery advised the winner from South County Dublin to sign the back of the ticket for safety purposes.
