A single-ticket lottery player in France has won a prize of €162 million in the EuroMillions lottery. According to the announcement of the national lottery operator in the country, Française des Jeux, this is the fifth biggest prize to be awarded in France in its history. The prize winner has not come forward as yet, but they have a period of 60 days for claiming their prize. All players of the EuroMillions lottery have the option of staying anonymous if they wish.
The winning combination of numbers for this draw were 50, 20, 41, 41, 01 and the Lucky Stars were 03 and 07. The details about where the ticket was purchased would be disclosed after the winner claims their prize. In the previous month, a woman hailing from Tahiti in French Polynesia had walked away with a prize of €220 million, which is the biggest ever EuroMillions jackpot to be given in history. The winner chose to stay anonymous, but disclosed that it was her first time playing the EuroMillions lottery.
Located in the South Pacific, French Polynesia is considered France’s overseas collectivity. EuroMillions, on the other hand, is a transnational lottery that had been introduced back in 2004.
