Accidental purchase of a Lotto Max ticket led to a woman from Fenelon Falls win $100,000. The woman told the lottery officials that it was a fluke purchase that got her the windfall.
Alicia Saunby who is 22 years is the Fenelon Falls winner of one of the recent draws of the Lotto Max. The winner managed to match six out of seven numbers in precisely the same order as were required in the Encore ticket. The Encore ticket worth $100,000 prize was a part of the Lotto Max draw that took place last week.
Additionally, the woman also won $2 on another Encore ticket and $20 on a Lotto Max ticket. While these wins were comparatively very small to her major big win, they nonetheless must have given her a sense of achievement. Winning the lottery seems like an almost impossible task and if you win thrice in a row you are bound to feel accomplished. With these additional wins, her total windfall stands at a total of $100,022.
Saunby revealed that she is not one of those regular participants in the lottery of games. It was a chance purchase that got her $100,000 richer by a stroke of luck overnight. She had bought the ticket from a convenience store in Fenelon Falls, Convenience 121 that is located at Lindsay Street. She hadn’t in her wildest dreams thought that $1 spent on the encore ticket would make her win $100,000 in the Lotto Max draw.
Divulging into details she revealed that since she wasn’t able to pay at the gas station she went inside the convenience store. It is at this juncture that she purchased the lottery ticket that flashed a jackpot worth $70 million. Though she knew that chances of winning the jackpot were very slim it was the jackpot only that enticed her to purchase the ticket.
She checked her ticket on the OLG lottery app quite a few days after the Lotto Max draw had taken place. As her phone flashed the Big Winner message her jaw dropped and she was speechless. After recovering from the shock the next thing she did was to run to her mother and share the news with her. Her mother is an educationist who was in the middle of an online class when she gave her mother the amazing news. It was a proud moment for her mother and she, therefore, shared the news of her daughter’s win with her entire class.
The 22-year-old winner wishes to pay off some bills with the windfall. She also plans to celebrate the win with her family friends by treating them. Since Saunby is passionate about reading and animals, she might use a portion of the windfall on her passion too.
