Three friends from Ontario have been playing the lottery together for 16 years and they have now become $21 million richer after they won the Lotto 6/49 ticket. The OLG disclosed that one of the winners, Kenneth Nitsotolis who hails from Markham, had gotten up and checked his email and received a big surprise.
He said when he opened his email, he saw confetti on his screen. He said that he had rubbed his eyes and thought they had won $21,000, but the prize had just too many numbers. Nitsotolis said that he had immediately video called his friends in Toronto to share the news with Dino Martino and Bill Tepelenas. The three friends have been playing the Lotto Max and Lotto 6/49 together since 2005. Nitsotolis said that his friends also hadn’t believed it right away and he had had to send them a picture of the win when they had slowly begun to believe it.
The lottery draw had taken place on September 22nd and the three winners will now split the jackpot worth $21,185,218.10. The group stated that haven’t thought about any plans of how they are going to spend their winnings. The OLG has revealed that more than $13.5 billion have been awarded in prizes to Lotto 6/49 players in Ontario since 1982.
